Fleet Hotel Temple Bar Description

Located in the heart of Dublin?s buzzing cultural quarter, Temple Bar, The Fleet Street Hotel is an ideal place to stay for either business or pleasure, with 72 ensuite bedrooms featuring all modern amenities. With a myriad of pubs, cocktail & wine bars and casual or exclusive restaurants in its immediate vicinity ? the hotel is also perfectly situated to accommodate even the most discerning of visitors to the City ? standing within minutes of some of Dublin?s most interesting architectural and cultural landmarks including Christ Church Cathedral and The Four Courts. The Fleet Street Hotel is a mere stone?s throw from Trinity College, the River Liffey and Dublin?s main shopping areas: Grafton Street and O?Connell Street. The Fleet Street hotel was once home to the famous Bewley's Bakery and Café, which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905. For business people and well-heeled shoppers, the Bewleys cafés became favourite meeting places and, in true café society style, over the years they were the haunt of famous Irish artists and writers such as James Joyce and Patrick Kavanagh.

By car: from the south, approach on the N11 and onto Leeson Street, Circle St and Stephens Green, and turn right onto Dawson Street. Turn right onto Nassau Street. Keep Trinity College on the left and bear left at Lincoln Place, turn left onto Westland Row. At the end of Westland Row turn left onto Pearse Street. Turn right onto Tara Street. Turn left onto Essex Quay. At O'Connell Bridge turn left onto D'Olier Street and right at the end of the street, looping back onto Westmoreland Street. Take a left turn onto Fleet Street. This Dublin city hotel is located on the right-hand side next door to the Palace Bar.

The hotel restaurant is situated in the basement of the building and is very informal with the style of a bar. This hotel does not have its own breakfast room. If required, guests can get breakfast at the Temple Bar Hotel next door - vouchers for which are available from reception.

The hotel has a traditional facade and faces directly onto Temple Bar.

The lobby is small and welcoming, and is situated on the first floor. There is a small seating area with a selection of daily newspapers.

Breakfast is not available on the premises, however preferential rates for breakfast have been negotiated at an adjacent hotel.

The rooms all have a fairly modern décor, with blues and yellows prominent. All were renovated in 1999, and are in reasonable condition. The rooms have large TVs and all the expected facilities. Double glazing has also been installed to help prevent noise coming up from the busy bars along the street; however the whole area can be rather noisy, especially on weekends.

The Bridge Bar offers live entertainment and late night music from Thursday through to Saturday night.
