The hotel is situated in the tiny village of Gersau which lies on lake Lucerne between Vitznau and Brunnen. The hotel itself enjoys a favourable position as it is directly on the lakeshore commanding wonderful views. The exterior is surprisingly very modern for a hotel in central Switzerland as it is a white building with balconies painted in blue, and bright yellow shades. The medium sized lobby is brightly lit and pleasantly decorated in pastel colours. The bedrooms are also of a good standard with coordinating furniture. Although they are fairly narrow, they are long enough to include a small sitting area which leads onto a balcony overlooking the lake. The hotel has a cafe as well as the gero-stube which serves typical dishes, a garden restaurant and a bar - all decorated in modern style. There are also a few meeting rooms which are used to serve group menus. This is a good hotel for groups which offers a high standard of modern amenities and a beautiful location. 19/01/95
