Located in the small town of Estoi, the Pousada de Faro/Estoi-Palacio de Estoi is a 5 star hotel near Faro, the capital of Portugal's Algarve region. Converted into a luxury Pousada historic hotel in 2009, the 18th century Palácio de Estói used to be the seat of the Viscounts of Estoi, who built this elegant palace and commissioned its delightful Versailles-style gardens with pavilions for enjoying afternoon tea, the favourite past time of the European aristocracy during the 18th and 19th centuries. There is even an ancient chapel in the Palácio de Estói's grounds if you are thinking of getting married here, and the old stables and cowsheds have been converted into a state-of-the-art events venue for wedding receptions and conferences. Part of the Palace's facade is covered with tiles with a variety of themes. In the interior, the decoration on the plaster ceilings - the finest in the Algarve -is worth mentioning, as is the furniture, the chapel, the hall, the reception and dining rooms, the two tea pavilions and the building which houses a nativity scene.

The famous Palace of Estoi is approximately 10 kilometers from Faro International Airport and 13 kilometers from the coastline. Within easy access are the beautiful, long sandy beaches, golf courses for which the Algarve is justly famous and the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
