The Westin Palace, Madrid Hotel Description

Built at the direction of King Alfonso XIII in 1912, The Westin Palace Madrid was recently restored to its original splendor.

Set near the Prado Museum, notable museums and historic monuments, it was named in the Condé Nast Traveler Top Hotels List in 2006. The magnificent building, highlighted by an enormous stained glass dome, has long been a center for Spanish society.

Among the many amenities, there are meeting rooms, restaurants, and a newly renovated Westin Workout fitness center overlooking the city. The 468 guest rooms and spacious suites have been updated with all modern conveniences and with the Westin Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath. Rooms are exquisitely decorated with antique furnishings and original mahogany and plaster details.

The standard rooms and suites are large and spacious, all decorated to a high standard and in a classical style. They feature elegant wall coverings and moulded plaster accents. Marble floors are a feature as well as a spacious desk, cocktail table, armchair, and reading lamp. Available with a queen or two twin beds. This hotel has kept its charming character in every detail.

If guests wish to start the year in shape there is the possibility to register for the popular Saint Silvester Road Race along Madrid streets on New Years' Eve.
