This family-run hotel, which was renovated in 2008, combines a modest interior with friendly service and provides a comfortable base from which to explore the island's many attractions. With a total of 46 guest rooms, the hotel welcomes guests in a lobby with a 24-hour check-out service, hotel safe and lift access. Guests may make use of the TV lounge, café, bar and restaurant, and Internet access and room and laundry services are all provided for additional fees. Those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park.
The hotel's Flame Tree Restaurant serves modern, inventive Portuguese cuisine, focusing on local ingredients. Meals can be taken on the attractive dining terrace or in the cosy dining room. Half-Board terms are available and represent outstanding value for money. Bar snacks, sandwiches and salads are also served throughout the day.

The rooms are simply and brightly decorated with wooden floors. Although most rooms are quite basic, in that they do not have TV's, mini-bars or kettles,they all have private bathrooms with plenty of hot water, fresh towels and daily maid service.
The hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace and parasols (fees apply to the latter).

Located in an elevated position with lovely views overlooking the Bay of Funchal. Vila Camacho is in a residential district, about 2km from the city centre, which is roughly 25 minutes away on foot and 5 minutes away by bus.
