The hotel has two restaurants. Fredricks offers a fine dining experience with a contemporary style of traditional cuisine. Earls Bistro, located at the front of the hotel, is more relaxed casual dining.
This is one of the largest hotels in Kilkenny, offering 118 accommodation units in total, with 112 luxury bedrooms and 6 Executive Suites. There are also 10 newly refurbished conference rooms and the signature Kings Ballroom that can cater for up to 250 guests for that perfect wedding day. There is complimentary car parking for guests as well as complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel. Guests are welcomed in the lobby, which offers a 24-hour reception and a 24-hour check-out service, as well as lift access to the upper floors. There is a bar and restaurant, and guests can also take advantage of the room and laundry services.
By car: from Dublin via the N9 Carlow - on approach to Kilkenny city centre, take the first exit at the roundabout (Dublin Road roundabout). Continue straight ahead (onto Kilkenny's ring road). At the next roundabout (Bennetsbridge Road), take the third exit and continue down the hill (Texaco filling station on the left) and continue straight for approximately 1 km. Pass Kilkenny Castle on the right-hand side. At the traffic lights, turn left (onto Patrick Street) and then take the immediate first right (Hibernian Hotel on the corner is the marker). The hotel is a very short distance ahead on the left.
All of the guest rooms offer a multi-channel TV, iron/ironing board, minibar, tea and coffee welcome tray, en suite bathroom with combined bath and shower, a trouser press and ample wardrobe space. A hairdryer, double bed, direct dial telephone, Internet access and central heating also feature in all rooms as standard.
Completely upgraded in summer 2008, the Ormonde Health Club is the city's largest fitness facility and facilities include a 21-metre indoor deck-level swimming pool, a children's pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room and aerobics studio. On the upper level, there is an extensive gym area with generous space to work out. KO Spa opens the door to luxury and sheer bliss. A new addition in 2008, KO Spa is the ultimate in relaxation.
